Industry Specific Training

The Lincoln Manufacturing Council (LMC) is an industry-led partnership uniting 32 local companies and community partners to strengthen the region’s manufacturing talent pipeline. By combining training with direct employer connections, LMC helps individuals launch and grow meaningful careers in manufacturing. LMC’s flagship program is the Manufacturing Basics Certificate, a free training program designed for individuals with little or no prior manufacturing experience. Training introduces essential technical skills, including measurement, production processes, blueprint reading, and work order interpretation, while also emphasizing soft skills like teamwork and problem-solving.

The Lincoln Bioscience Council (LBC) is an industry-led partnership uniting local bioscience companies, educators, and community partners to strengthen Lincoln’s bioscience talent pipeline. Through its Bioscience 101 program, taught in partnership with Southeast Community College, LBC helps individuals with little or no bioscience experience build foundational skills in quality, safety, documentation, lab measurements, aseptic techniques, and standard operating procedures while connecting them to career opportunities in the life sciences.

Welcoming & Belonging

LPED supports community-led initiatives that help Lincoln become more welcoming, connected, and opportunity-rich for all residents. Through the New Americans Task Force, Welcoming Week, and the Lincoln Homeless Coalition, LPED contributes workforce expertise, planning support, and employer connections to help remove barriers for New Americans and residents experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Its role is collaborative, strengthening existing community efforts by connecting people to training, employment, and long-term economic stability.

Family-Friendly Employer Recognition

Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification recognizes employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees, and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work, and play by prioritizing family well-being and early childhood support. The Certification program is provided in partnership with Lincoln Littles and seeks to help businesses attract and sustain a strong, inclusive local workforce through the implementation of family-friendly workplace policies. This program is built on the belief that increasing family-friendly policies and practices is essential to support business success, grow our economy, and improve access to employment for Lincoln’s labor force.

Workplace Culture Development

The Lincoln Circle is a monthly gathering focused on building workplace cultures where all identities are valued. Attendees share resources, learn best practices, and develop practical skills to support inclusive workplaces.

Community STEM Network

Lincoln STEM Ecosystem (LNKSE) expands equity and access to STEM learning, connecting in-school and out-of-school experiences to real-world careers. LNKSE strives to meet the current and future needs of STEM-focused industries, connect formal and informal educators to resources and partnerships needed for high-quality experiences, and increase STEM opportunities that advance understanding and appreciation of STEM in the community.
