Schedule Announced for Startup Week 2020

The schedule and list of events for Techstars Startup Week Lincoln has been announced, beginning on Monday, October 5th and continuing through Friday, October 9th.

This year’s events are online and feature a five-day celebration of the startup community in Lincoln that builds momentum and opportunity around entrepreneurship. The themes of this year’s presenters are Collaboration and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Social Justice, Looking Forward to Future Opportunities and Tech.

“We are thrilled to offer Lincoln Startup Week in a virtual format this year. The economic challenges created by the pandemic have made it more important than ever to connect people with opportunities around entrepreneurship. The online conference will make it easy for anyone to connect, learn, and explore that opportunity to start something new,” according to Christina Oldfather, LPED director of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The programming for this year’s Startup Week, sponsored by Monolith, will continue to showcase the programs, spaces, mentors and opportunities that help make Lincoln an inviting place to build a startup. The week also continues to be the result of the hard work of many partners, including the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, Nebraska Innovation Campus, Turbine Flats, FUSE Coworking, NMotion, The Combine, Union Bank and Trust, AIM/Silicon Prairie News, Totonga Bomoi, The Refinery, Big Red Startups, Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program, UNL Center for Entrepreneurship, the Inside Outside Innovation Summit and Invest Nebraska.

Oldfather adds that the events will cover a lot of ground, touching on a number of important themes. Ultimately, Oldfather is excited for attendees to build their virtual networks through Startup Week events.

“This year, we will kick off the week with a virtual networking event and a quick orientation on how to get the most out of your online experience. The rest of the week will include sessions on how to get started as an entrepreneur, collaboration and innovation, social justice, a business showcase from the Combine and additional opportunities to connect with other Lincoln Startup Week attendees.”
