Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program Certifies 12 in Latest Cohort

Lincoln Littles and the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) are thrilled to announce that 12 additional local organizations have been certified through the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program. With these newest certifications, the program has now surpassed a significant milestone, recognizing more than 50 organizations as family-friendly workplaces in Lincoln.

The program was announced in October 2025 and celebrates employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work and play by prioritizing family-well-being and early childhood support.

“Family-friendly workplace practices ensure parents have what they need to be their best—at work and at home. When employers develop policies with families in mind, they create environments where both parents and young children can truly thrive,” says Anne Brandt, Executive Director of Lincoln Littles.

The 12 workplaces receiving certification are: ALLO Fiber, Clark & Enersen, Clyde Malone Community Center, Complete Hearing, Electronic Contracting Company, First State Bank Nebraska, HDR, Inc., Lancaster County, Lincoln Public Schools, Marsh McLennan Agency, NMPP Energy and Southeast Community College.

To date, 51 different area workplaces have received certification through the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program. A full list can be found at https://www.selectlincoln.org/lincoln-family-friendly-workplace-certification.

“At Malone Center, we know that building a strong community starts with supporting the people who serve it every day. We strive to create a workplace where employees feel respected, supported and empowered to balance their work and personal responsibilities,” says Prudence Devney, Community & Resource Director of the Clyde Malone Community Center.

“Receiving the Family-Friendly Workplace Certification is a meaningful recognition of our commitment to building relationships, creating belonging and investing in the well-being of our team. When our staff thrive, our community thrives,” Devney adds.

Those obtaining certification receive placement on a public map available for job seekers and families, inclusion on the LPED and Lincoln Littles websites and social media platforms, recognition at LPED and Lincoln Chamber of Commerce events and a certification decal and digital badge for website and other promotional use.

“We established the Family-Friendly Certification Program in fulfilment of the Vitality Lincoln Strategic Plan, and we are very proud to work with Lincoln Littles through the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. Together we are supporting working parents through initiatives that expand childcare availability,” says Jason Ball, President of the Lincoln Chamber and Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. “Childcare innovation in the private sector has led the way to help families have more economic empowerment, and help companies attract talent, reduce turnover and build a stronger, more resilient workforce.”

To gain certification, employers must meet at least seven out of 10 qualifying criteria. Complete details on the workplaces certification program can be found at https://www.selectlincoln.org/lincoln-family-friendly-workplace-certification.

To apply, workplaces will complete the free self-assessment application online, which takes around 15 minutes to complete. Applications will be reviewed quarterly by the Lincoln Littles Board of Advisors Engagement Committee.
