Lincoln Littles and the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) are thrilled to announce that 26 additional local organizations have been certified through the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program.
The program was announced in October 2025 and celebrates employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work and play by prioritizing family-well-being and early childhood support.
The 26 workplaces receiving certification are: Arbor Day Foundation, Assurity, BCom, Belmont Community Center, Black Hills Energy, Charter Title & Escrow, Children’s Nebraska, Civic Nebraska, Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, Family Service Lincoln, Google, Las Abejitas Bilingual Education Center, Lincoln Children’s Museum, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Lutz, Monolith Resources LLC, NEBCO, Inc., Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, Nebraska Wesleyan University, NRC Health, Olsson, Schwisow Construction, Speedway Motors, Speedway Properties, Union Bank & Trust and University of Nebraska Foundation.

The 13 initial workplaces that received certification in December 2025 were Ameritas, City of Lincoln, Don’t Panic Labs, FNBO, Hudl, Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Lincoln Community Foundation, Lincoln Electric System, Primrose School at Hudl, Primrose School of Lincoln at Wilderness Hills, Schemmer, TMCO and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
“At Olsson, our first tenet is that we exist for our employees, first and foremost. Family friendly policies and benefits support our people while strengthening our organization and the greater Lincoln community,” notes Nick Steinke, Local Area Leader of Olsson. “We appreciate the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development and Lincoln Littles for developing the Family Friendly Workplace Certification Program and are honored to receive this recognition,” Steinke adds.
Those obtaining certification receive placement on a public map available for job seekers and families, inclusion on the LPED and Lincoln Littles websites and social media platforms, recognition at LPED and Lincoln Chamber of Commerce events and a certification decal and digital badge for website and other promotional use.
“Civic Nebraska is honored to be recognized as a Family-Friendly Workplace. As a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities, we know that this work begins by supporting the people behind the mission,” says Nancy Petitto, Executive Director of Civic Nebraska. “This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where our team can thrive both professionally and personally. It also demonstrates that mission-driven organizations can, and should, lead the way in building policies that support working families,” Petitto concludes.
To gain certification, employers must meet at least seven out of 10 qualifying criteria. Complete details on the workplaces certification program can be found at https://www.selectlincoln.org/lincoln-family-friendly-workplace-certification.
To apply, workplaces will complete the free self-assessment application online, which takes around 15 minutes to complete. Applications will be reviewed quarterly by the Lincoln Littles Board of Advisors Engagement Committee.
