Nationally ranked startup accelerator gener8tor has hired Nebraska native Scott Henderson as a managing director to be based in Lincoln. He will spearhead the NMotion Studio Accelerator and gBETA Lincoln program while serving as the local conduit between the Nebraska startup ecosystem and the broader gener8tor network.
gener8tor is excited to welcome Henderson back to his home state, where he was born, grew
up, and earned degrees from both the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska at Omaha. His career arc includes founding and growing companies, raising charitable donations for universities, creating digital strategies for brands and nonprofits and cultivating stronger startup ecosystems in metro Atlanta and central Indiana.
“I am excited to be back in Nebraska to work with the best and brightest people who want to
start their own companies,” stated Henderson. “Having worked in and with startups in Atlanta,
Boston and Indiana, I kept my eyes on what has emerged here and am looking forward to
working with everyone to help our community reach the next level. That starts for me by finding
talented people for our Venture Residency and Accelerator Studio cohorts.”
NMotion is currently accepting applications for two programs:
● NMotion Venture Residency: A month-long venture creation sprint during which ten
participants will rapidly ideate, build minimum viable products and test four business
concepts over the course of four weeks. Selected participants earn a $3,000 stipend for
their work during the program, which is considered an extended tryout for the
Accelerator Studio.
○ Application Deadline: October 5
○ Program: October 16 - November 16
○ Apply here: www.nmotion.co/venture-residency
● NMotion Accelerator Studio: A sixteen-week program during which “Co-Founders”
(individuals or teams) will each build a startup from scratch. Selected participants receive
$100K in investment capital per team and work closely with NMotion and gener8tor staff
to build, design, launch and iterate on new products or services.
○ Application Deadline: October 26
○ Program: December 3 - April 9

In both programs, participants may (1) execute on product/service concepts internally incubated
by gener8tor; (2) conceive of and execute on brand new product/service concepts; (3)
collaborate with gener8tor’s Project North corporate partners on devising a new startup from
scratch; or (4) partner with one of NMotion’s investors around ideas, grand challenges,
problems and technologies relevant to their businesses.
Local investors and funders in this new venture capital model include Ameritas, Assurity, Invest
Nebraska, Greater Lincoln Chamber Foundation, Lincoln Partnership for Economic
Development, Nebraska Angels, Nelnet, Union Bank & Trust and the University of Nebraska -
Lincoln.
“It’s an ideal situation for us to find someone with Nebraska roots and proven experience in
major markets,” said Christina Oldfather, NMotion Board of Directors and Director of
Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. “We
are excited to have Scott’s leadership to help leverage the locally grown success of NMotion
and take full advantage of gener8tor’s national mentor and investor network.”
The NMotion Accelerator Studio and gBETA Lincoln connects Nebraska’s startup ecosystem
to gener8tor’s nationwide network, which includes programs in Beloit, Wisconsin; Birmingham,
Alabama; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Cincinnati; Cleveland; Detroit; Greater Minnesota, Houston;
Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Madison, Wisconsin; Milwaukee; Minneapolis-St. Paul; Northeast
Wisconsin; Pensacola, Florida; and Toronto.
Applications are also open for a Program Manager to work with the Managing Director to
operate both programs. Interested applicants can learn more at www.gener8tor.com/careers.
