Peltz Named LPED Vice President

The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) announces the promotion of Luke Peltz to Vice President of Economic Development from his previous position of Director of Business Development.

Peltz succeeds Pat Haverty, who passed away in September 2020, and has served as the Interim Vice President of Economic Development since that time.

During Peltz’s time as Director of Business Development, LPED received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development award from the International Economic Development Council. LPED was honored for its creation of the Lincoln Economic Dashboard, which illustrates Lincoln’s economic status and progress against comparable regions, as companies considering expanding or relocating operations use it as a resource for planning purposes.

“I am so proud of the work that Luke has done while with the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development as Lincoln remains an attractive location for continued business development and expansion,” notes Wendy Birdsall, CCE, president of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development.

“His leadership and proactive communication during the current pandemic have resulted in continued economic development and projects throughout our state, leading to great opportunities for our city. I know he will continue that leadership for the betterment of our community in this new, official role.”

While serving as Director of Business Development, Peltz was also instrumental in helping the state win three consecutive Governor’s Cups for most business development projects per capita within a state and back-to-back Silver Shovel awards in 2018 and 2019, which focuses on investment and development projects.

Peltz serves on the Nebraska Economic Developers Association board of directors and has also played a key role in business recruitment trips, resulting in new projects coming to Lincoln. He has been with LPED since 2013 and previously worked for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
