The medical and life sciences sector is a capital-intensive, highly-technical, and highly-skilled industry in Lincoln. Home to three full-service medical centers, a hospital specializing in heart surgery, and a premier rehabilitation hospital specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, Lincoln’s medical sector is thriving. The Lincoln heath care system also provides a 24-hour information and service line; an extended-hour illness and injury clinic; eight nursing homes and several in-home-care agencies; and a community blood bank. In addition to Lincoln’s exceptional medical services, the community is one of the healthiest in the nation.
