The West Haymarket Redevelopment project will convert 400 acres of blighted and underutilized property on the western edge of Lincoln's Downtown. The proposed redevelopment project involves several components including: a new arena, new hotel, public plazas, retail, office and condominiums.
Lincoln Traction Partners a locally driven development team with national resources in arena and hotel/convention center development will partner with the City and other community stakeholders to develop the area and to install private and public components that will serve as economic and cultural stimuli for the community.
The proposal for a new West Haymarket Arena will go before voters early next year. The 15,000 seat arena will will provide a new home to the UNL Men’s and Women’s basketball programs and will be adaptable to a variety of floor configurations for hockey, concerts, volleyball, wrestling tournaments, rodeos, trade shows and other events. The arena will feature premium suites, club seating, and an attached 150-room hotel. Nearby facilities will include a 250-room hotel, and three parking garages with built-in retail space.
